Anker 737 Power Bank

The Anker 737 Power Bank (PowerCore 24K, model A1289) is a USB-C backup option for a phone, tablet or compatible laptop during a short outage or while traveling. Anker is my go-to brand for charging essentials.

Does it fit your outage kit?

Anker lists a 24,000mAh battery and USB-C output up to 140W. Your device, cable and charging protocol determine the power it can actually use. A capacity rating is not a promise of a specific number of phone recharges.

Check the exact A1289 model, the included cable and the charger you will use to refill it. Charge your kit before severe weather and confirm that each device charges normally.

Power bank or power station?

For a USB-only kit, compare the size and connections of a power bank first. If another device needs an AC outlet, compare the Anker SOLIX C300 power station and read how to size backup power for an outage.
